Department of Education Expansion
The education in our system needs to be adjusted to stricter Federal standards and must be free of bias from political parties. Our history standards should be set by historians, math standards by mathematicians. Our schools should be given more funds for teachers, teaching aides, and supplies needed throughout the course of the year. Textbooks should be reasonably up to date, and outdated material should be phased out in a timely manner. We need to hire more Teachers, and incentivize Americans to
become Teachers, by providing grants to college students pursuing an education degree and increasing Teacher take home pay with tax incentives. Many families are in a place financially where both parents must work, and in response to this current need, after-school programs should be made available Nationwide, so that parents can know their children are safe, and are being provided access to safe social interaction outside of the classroom. Studies have shown that after-school programs have a positive impact on improving academic performance, social-emotional development for all ages, and reduce dropout and crime rates for middle-school and high-school aged children.
