Voter Protections
All Election days should be paid holidays. Voter data shows that the number of Vote-eligible Americans that did not vote in the last Presidential election, would have in fact won that election, if their votes were tallied together.
Data from the University of Florida Election Lab was compiled by the Environmental Voter Project shows that nearly 90 million Americans, whether by feelings of disaffection, or inability to reach a ballot box, did not cast a vote in what has quickly become the most consequential election in modern American history. We must do more to explain to people the importance of participating in the electoral process, provide more access to ballot measures without political tilt, and remove the barriers that have tried to prevent Americans from casting their votes since Reconstruction.
